Have you published this idea in any scientific journal?

I would love to use it with my students for my course "Implementation of Educational Technology". It could very nicely serve them as a theoretical model guiding them when planning the integration of technology into teaching/learning.

During the spring semester 2010 they will actually have to do a concrete pedagogical and research project on using digital technology tools for learning/teaching with real kids... And write a research report with a theoretical framework, empirical data and a practical & theoretical discussion. Hopefully, we will be able to publish these works in the end, at least as a print-on-demand book or a non-peer-reviewed online open journal.

Bob,

This is actually the work of my friend, Mike Fisher. You can learn more about this work at http://visualblooms.wikispaces.com (Note the citation was also below the image in the post above.). I've emailed Mike and hope that he will reply to your comments.

The hierarchy/model that Mike has created is creative... if you read the book on the revised Bloom's- http://www.amazon.com/Taxonomy-Learning-Teaching-Assessing-Educational/dp/080131903X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1255326556&sr=1-1-spell - the revised Bloom's is not hierarchical or levels, but more categorical.

While the model provides some insight into how technology can support various types of learning activities- the ways technologies are used truly have the most significant influence on the extent to which higher-order thinking skills (Bloom's revised stages) are reached. Here are some thoughts I wrote earlier about it.

Clif,
Great post and so glad to see someone else using posterous -- I don't understand why more educators are using it.

Bob, I'll send you a separate email...and to all of you--thanks for the input. The visual is still on the verge of major change. The hierarchy associated with bloom's might not necessarily be the best format for what I was trying to convey. There are dozens of folks involved with this wiki now and at some point, there will be a new visual that is more fluid. (I seem to run out of time quickly lately--but hope to devote some time to it soon!) My vision right now has to do with cognitive load with each tool--where I investigate the hierarchy on a per tool basis, versus trying to decide where a tool might fit. Stay tuned! -Mike Fisher

Bob,

I intended to send you a separate email, but alas, the link was back to this posterous page. If you want to continue the conversation, please feel free to email me at mikefisher (@) gmail.com

Thanks,

Mike

George,

Everywhere I go I share Posterous with teachers. I think most could find a use for it in/out of their classrooms.

How funny Clif--I had to investigate it BECAUSE of you! I was working in Kannapolis for a week in September and the teachers identified Posterous as something that they wanted to develop! (So I had to find out about it QUICKLY!) I LOVE it now--couldn't be easier--and am showing it in a workshop tonight! However, just so you know--I'm using it more for personal stuff than professional--as it updates my personal blogger page...

That is funny, Mike. I'm not sure whether to apologize or say, "You're welcome." LOL
